A junior transfer from Brooklyn, NY, Brian Cummings turned in two solid performances last week against top competition for the Orediggers. Against the University of Montana Grizzlies, Cummings shot 8 for 13 from the field and netted 17. Cummings added five rebounds and an assist. Tech was within four with 3:31 to play in the game against the Griz after four straight points from Cummings before the Orediggers finally succumbed to the Division I opponent.
On Saturday against #6 Division III Whitworth University in Spokane, Cumming helped lead the Diggers to Whitworth’s first loss of the season and ended their 41-game home winning streak. Cummings had 16 points, four rebounds and a blocked shot. Cummings was sd6 for 8 from the field and 2 for 3 from three point range in the contest.
On the week, Cummings averaged 16.5 points and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 67-percent from the field and 50-percent from beyond the arc.
