The athlete of the week is freshman guard Mandy Machinal from Richmond, Washington. The women’s basketball team played one game this weekend when they defeated UM-Western on Saturday night 84-71. Machinal had a tremendous game against the Bulldogs netting 37 on the night. This is the most points in a game by a women’s basketball player since official stats have been kept. Machinal also had four assists and a steal to only two turnovers. Machinal shot 9 of 11 from the field and 5 of 6 from beyond the arc. From the line, Machinal was a perfect 14 for 14.
