Box Score GREAT FALLS, Mont. – Montana Tech wins a hard fought battle over Great Falls Thursday, 25-22, 25-23, 27-25.
The Orediggers (6-7, 1-0) were led by Junior
Sydney Norris who had nine kills and 11 digs in the contest.
Alison Lunde chipped in with 18 assist while
Kimmy Kavran added 19 digs.
The Argos fell to 8-6, 0-1 on the season and were led by Alyssa McEwan who hit for .500 and had 13 kills.
The first set, which saw eight ties and 10 lead changes, was an evenly displayed contest as both squads were neck-and-neck throughout the competition. With the score knotted at 20-20, Tech head coach

Bailie Cortner and the Diggers to go on a 5-2 run to capture set number one.
The two teams battled back-and-forth to start the second set. UGF broke away late in the game with a 21-17 lead. However, this did not phase the Orediggers as they battled back to tie the set at 23 apiece. Norris led the march for the Diggers as her serves forced several Argo errors hoisting Tech to a 25-23 victory.
Montana Tech jumped to a 7-4 lead early in the third set. The Diggers held on to the lead until Great Falls went on a run to tie it up at 13 all. The Argos would surge to a 20-16 lead. Once again the Diggers continued to battle and tied up the set at 23-23. Tech continued to push through to earn a 27-25 win.
