Box Score LA MIRADA, Calif. – Montana Tech won their second straight match at the Biola Summer Slam defeating No. 18 Southern Oregon in four sets 23-25, 25-19, 25-17, 25-22.
After falling to the Raiders (1-1) in a close first set, the Orediggers (2-0) took the final three winning by solid margins in sets two and three. Tech scored the final six points in set two and used two strong runs in the third creating solid momentum.
The Orediggers led at the net with 44 kills to 37 by Southern Oregon.
Nicole Peacock led Tech with 11 kills and helped on defense with eight digs and a block.
Freshman
Gena McMillan hit double-digits in her second career match with 10 kills hitting .231.
Senior
Jordan Danz had nine kills and a pair of blocks.
Angie Pancost had four aces including two to finish the second set.
Sabrina Hopcroft had 17 digs and a pair of aces.
The Orediggers face No. 16 Westmont (Calif.) tomorrow at 9 a.m. and No. 24 Northwestern (Iowa) at 5 p.m. in the final day of the tournament. Both games will be streamed.
