Box Score BUTTE, Mont. – The Orediggers opened their home tournament with a tough victory in their first match of the Big Sky Volleyball Challenge. It took all five sets for Montana Tech to overcome Saint Francis (Ind.) 25-22, 24-26, 26-28, 25-23, 15-11.

Montana Tech trailed in the first four sets having to overcome deficits to win in the first and fourth. The fifth set was all Orediggers holding of the Cougars.

The Orediggers totaled 66 kills to 56 by the Cougars and held a huge margin in blocks 33-18.

Seniors Angela Molesworth and Nicole Peacock had 15 kills each. Molesworth hit cleanly from the right side with just two errors and a 0.464 hitting percentage. The Alaska
Fairbanks transfer had seven blocks.

Heather Thompson had 10 kills and just one error hitting 0.750 for the match. She had a team high nine blocks.

Masha Korol had 10 kills and six blocks.

Cassidy Rammel led Saint Francis with a game high 18 kills and a 0.256 hitting percentage.

Montana Tech (4-1) play their second match tonight at 7 p.m. against No. 11 Eastern Oregon.
