BILLINGS, Mont. – Montana Tech opened the 2020-21 season with a 3-1 loss to Rocky Mountain College 27-25, 25-15, 21-25, 25-20.

The Orediggers could not find their footing at the net finishing with a .032 hitting percentage with 40 kills and 34 hitting errors.

The Battlin' Bears had 44 kills hitting .106 on the night.

Karina Mickelson led the attack for the Orediggers with 12 kills. Middle Sydney Parks and Maureen Jessop notched 9 kills each.

Monique Rodriguez led the Bears with 13 kills. Morgan Allen and Kyla Oakland had 9 kills a piece.
 

Rocky Mountain College 3 Montana Tech 1

BILLINGS, Mont. – Montana Tech dropped the second match in the two days to Rocky Mountain College falling 3-1 25-18, 17-25, 25-20, 27-25.

The Battlin' Bears outhit Tech just 48-45, but the Orediggers couldn't quite overtake the Bears. The Orediggers finished with a .166 hitting percentage and the Bears hit .147 for the match.

Maureen Jessop led Tech with 14 kills and a .295 hitting percentage.

Karina Mickelson had 13 kills while hitting .222.

Sydney Parks had a match high 7 blocks.

Monique Rodriguez led the Bears with 15 kills hitting .313 in the match.

Montana Tech (0-2) returns home next weekend hosting Montana State Northern.
