BUTTE, Mont. – Montana Tech ended Montana Western's season in the first round of the Frontier Conference Tournament downing the Bulldogs 25-23, 25-27, 25-20, 25-15.
The match was tightly contested in the first two sets with the Bulldogs taking the second in extra points.
The Orediggers (9-10) finished strong in the final two frames.
Tech outhit the Bulldogs 51-44 and finished with a .143 hitting percentage. The Orediggers finished with 14 team blocks to just 5 from the Bulldogs.
Karina Mickelson led the attack for the Orediggers with 17 kills hitting for .192.
Maureen Jessop had 11 kills.
Sydney Parks had 9 kills hitting for .167 and added 7 blocks on defense.
Taylor Henley had 6 kills hitting for .190 with 5 blocks.
Megan Benton had 7 kills hitting for .190 and finished with 5 blocks.
Mckenna Kaelber had 45 assists.
Morgan Stenger led the Bulldogs with 11 kills hitting for .226. Emmah Peterson had 10 kills.
