Box Score BUTTE, Mont. – No. 17 Bellevue handed the Montana Tech volleyball team their first loss of the 2021 season downing the Orediggers in three sets 26-24, 25-20, 25-16.
The Orediggers (4-1) came from behind a five-point deficit in the first set taking a 23-22 lead late. The Bears didn't give up finishing with three straight points to win the set 26-24.
The Orediggers had 13 kills hitting .290 in the first frame. The Bears had 17 kills while hitting .344.
Tech held a slim lead in the beginning of the second set, but couldn't hold the momentum down the stretch.
Bellevue finished with 44 kills to 35 from Tech. The Bears had a .323 hitting percentage for the match and the Orediggers finished with a .160.
Eve Fountain led the Bears with 15 kills and 5 errors hitting .345 in the match.
Karina Mickelson led the Orediggers with 11 kills and just 2 errors hitting .500.
Olivia Labeau had 7 kills and
Maureen Jessop added 6.
McKenna Kaelber had 22 assists.
Montana Tech faces Dickinson State Saturday at 9 a.m. in their next match of the Big Sky Volleyball Challenge.
