Orediggers Finished in Second, Third at Beartooth Invitational

LAUREL, Mont. – The Montana Tech men finished in second place and the women took third at the Beartooth Invitational held at the Laurel Golf Club. The tournament was hosted by NCAA Division II MSU Billings.

The Oredigger men couldn't catch Rocky Mountain finishing 14 strokes back of the Battlin' Bears. Rocky finished with a team score of 591 (+15) and Tech with 605 (+29). South Dakota School of Mines took third place with a 607 (+31).

Rocky's Haydn Driver took the individual medal in the first playoff hole shooting a 144 (E) for the tournament.

Sean Ramsbacher was the top Oredigger finishing in a tie for fourth place. Ramsbacher shot a 75 on day two and finished with a 148 (+4) for the two rounds.

Matt Hobbs fell to 10th place after starting the day in second place. Hobbs had a two-round total of 152 (+8). Isaiah Weldon and Jace Rhodes finished in a tie in 12th place with a 153 (+9).  

Rocky's Claire Wright won the women's individual medal and the Bears took the team trophy. Wright finished with a 148 (+4) and Rocky scored 675 (+99).

South Dakota School of Mines took second place with a fin al score of 681 (+105). The Orediggers finished with a final score of 718 (+142).

Cierra Sundheim moved up four places on the day finishing in a tie in eighth place. Sundheim shot a second round 85 finishing with a 174 (+30) total.

Franchi Certain improved shot an 84 today improving nine strokes on day two. Certain movied up six spots to a tie for 12th place with a 177 (+33).

Samantha Benson finished in 14th place with a 179 (+35) total. Emily Kelly finished in 21st with a 188 (+44).

Lauren Williams finished in a tie for 19th playing as an individual. Williams shot a 186 (+42).

The Orediggers finish the conference regular season next week at the Battlin' Bear Invitational at the Yegen golf Club in Billings.
