Orediggers Down Argos 3-1

BUTTE, Mont. – The No. 18 Montana Tech Oredigger volleyball team finished Hall of Fame weekend with a 3-1 victory over the University of Providence to stay unbeaten in conference play. 

The Orediggers (21-6, 6-0) earned their 11th straight victory with the 1988 Frontier Conference Champion team in the HPER Complex. The 1988 Oredigger volleyball team, which went 7-1 during their conference season and were the first Tech volleyball team to go the national tournament, was inducted into the Montana Tech Hall of Fame this weekend.

The Orediggers took the first two sets before the Argos (7-17, 0-6) kept the match alive by winning the third frame. Tech held on in the fourth winning 25-17, 27-25, 18-25, 25-21.

Tech came out of the gate hot in the first set hitting .303 with 13 kills. The Orediggers finished with 54 kills to the Argos 46 and a .209 hitting percentage. The Argos finished hitting .103 in the match.

Providence led on defense at the net with 14.5 blocks. Tech had 10 blocks on the night.

Olivia Muir and Maureen Jessop had 18 kills each. Muir had an efficient night with just four hitting errors on 34 attempts and a .412 hitting percentage. Jessop hit .180 in the match and three blocks.
 
Kinnidi Wilmore had six kills and Taylor Henley added four kills and three blocks.

Roslyn Zentz had the setting duties and finished with a career high 49 assists. 

Olivia Caddy had 20 digs. 

Zoe Naugle and Adysen Burns had 12 kills each for the Argos. Naugle had a match-high eight blocks.

Montana Tech goes on the road next week when they travel to Carroll College on Wednesday and Rocky Mountain Saturday.
