HAVRE, Mont. – No. 19 Montana Tech volleyball finished the first half of the Frontier Conference schedule undefeated sweeping MSU-Northern 25-22, 2-16, 25-17.
The Orediggers (17-6, Frontier 5-0) extend their winning streak to seven matches and five of them were sweeps. Tech has lost just three sets against the Frontier schools in conference play.
The Orediggers had 37 kills finishing with a .180 team hitting percentage while the Skylights posted 30 kills with 24 hitting errors and a .052 hitting percentage.
Olivia Muir led the attack for Tech with 9 kills on 27 swings and a .185 hitting percentage.
Maureen Jessop and
Taylor Henley had 8 kills each. Jessop hit for .222 and Henley had a .467 connecting on 8 of her 15 swings. Henley also had 4 blocks.
Olivian Caddy had 15 digs and 3 aces.
McKenna Kaelber had 31 assists in the match.
Alyssa Pretty Weasel led the Skylights with 12 kills finishing with a .207 hitting percentage. Jessalyn Chvilicek had 8 kills but hit in the negative.
Montana Tech is traveling out of state next weekend to Wisconsin. The Orediggers will face strong nonconference and ranked opponents at the Viterbo Invitational. Tech will play four matches in LaCrosse, Wisconsin against No. 24 Columbia (M0.), (RV) Saint Francis (Ind.), St. Francis (Ill.), and host No. 8 Viterbo.
