BUTTE, Mont. – The No. 17 Montana Tech volleyball season comes to an end in the Opening Round of the NAIA National Tournament. No. 25 Westmont upset the Orediggers 25-20, 28-26, 25-23.
Tech was on the verge of winning the second set before Westmont pushed it into extra points scoring seven of the last nine points.
The Orediggers were down 23-15 in set three and stormed back with eight straight points to tie the Warriors. Two kills by Westmont finished the year for Tech.
The Orediggers (24-6) couldn't find their rhythm hitting .060 in the match while the Warriors kept taking swings with 135 attempts finishing with a .148. The Warriors led the Orediggers in kills 59-42.
Maureen Jessop was the only Oredigger to hit double-digit kills finishing with 11.
Olivia Muir and
Olivia LaBeau had four kills each. LeBeau had a match high 10 blocks.
Sarah Hopcroft had 17 digs.
Phoebe Minch and Jesse Terlizzi led the Warriors with 11 kills each.
