Box Score GREAT FALLS- No. 20 Montana Tech started out their Frontier Conference schedule with a 3-1 victory over the University of Providence at the McLaughlin Center winning 25-15. 25-16, 22-25, 25-16.
The Orediggers (13-6, 1-0) battled it out with the Argos in the first set before settling in to comfortably taking the second set. Miscues and errors in the third set forced the Diggers to a fourth set they won 25-16.
Montana Tech outhit Providence .203 to .093 at the net and had nine fewer attack errors in the match.
Taylor Henley led the Orediggers with 14 kills and five blocks. Oliivia Muir had 12 kills and
Maureen Jessop finished with 10.
McKenna Kaelber had a season high 54 assists in the match.
The Diggers had 85 digs defensively against the Argos 72. Montana Tech had 15 blocks to the Argos 7 in the win.
Montana Tech opens their home Frontier Conference matches with Carroll College on Wednesday night at Kelvin Sampson Court.
