Volleyball Goes 2-0 in Havre

No. 14 Montana Tech 3 vs. Valley City 1
 
HAVRE, Mont. – The Montana Tech volleyball team opened the Frontier/North Star Crossover Tournament hosted by MSU-Northern with a 3-1 victory over Valley City State.
 
The Orediggers (6-5) won the first set with 11 kills and a .241 hitting percentage. The Vikings (3-5) took the second set before Tech closed out the match 25-18, 27-25, 25-18, 25-20.
 
Valley City led in kills 47-43 but committed 34 hitting errors. Tech hit for .183 in the match and finished with 10 blocks.
 
Olivia Labeau led the Orediggers with 12 kills while hitting .417 in the match. Lebeau also had five blocks
 
Maureen Jessop had 10 kills and Taylor Henley had nine with a .348 hitting percentage. Henley also had four blocks in the match.
 
McKenna Kaelber had 20 assists.
 
Bailey Nelson led the Vikings with 16 kills.

HAVRE, Mont. – Montana Tech won their second match of the day at the Frontier/North Star Crossover with a sweep of Dickinson State.
 
The Orediggers (7-5) made quick work in the match over the Blue Hawks (2-9) winning 25-6, 25-12, 25-13.
 
Tech had 37 kills in the match and had just five hitting errors finishing with a .421 hitting percentage. The Blue Hawks had 19 kills while hitting -.034.
 
Maureen Jessop led the Orediggers with 14 kills and a .480 hitting percentage.
 
Olivia Labeau had five kills and no hitting errors and a .455 hitting percentage.
 
McKenna Kaelber had 29 assists.
 
McKenzie Moser and Madi Wahl had four kills each for the Blue Hawks.
 
The Orediggers continue the Frontier/Norther Star Crossover tomorrow with matches against Mayville State and Presentation University.
