Box Score Bellevue, Neb.- Â Make that two wins on the day for the Orediggers.
No. 10 Montana Tech downed No. 18 Bellevue University 3-1 (28-26, 16-25, 25-22, 25-21) as part of the Marvel Classic held on the campus of Bellevue University.
Coming off a three-set victory over Grand View University earlier in the day, the Orediggers found themselves in a battle with the Bruins of Bellevue. The first set dictated the tempo of the match, with the Orediggers coming out on top 28-26. Montana Tech finished that first set with 19 kills, with a .283 hitting percentage.
The pendulum swung to the Bruins in the second set. Bellevue hit .375 in the second and forced the Orediggers to a match-high eight errors, to take a 25-16 win.
The Orediggers never trailed in the third set. That said, they also never had a lead of more than four points. Montana Tech took the fourth set 25-22.
Watching this match, it was easy to understand why both of these programs are nationally ranked. The Orediggers grabbed an early lead, but the Bruins countered and went up 13-10. That three-point lead would be the last lead they would have on the night. The Orediggers would reel them in, and then close out the set and match.
The Orediggers were led by
Maureen Jessop with 19 kills in the match,
Olivia Muir right behind with 18. Olivia Labeau finished strong with 15 kills, and
Taylor Henley wrapped with eight. The Orediggers finished with a team hitting percentage of .260.

McKenna Kaelber and
Rhys Layton both had outstanding games, finishing with 28 and 31 assists respectively.

Jelena Jablanov tallied 20 digs in the win.
Allie Kerns led the Bruins with 16 kills and finished with a hitting percentage of .395.
The win pushes Montana Tech's record to 17-3 on the year. They will close out the Marvel Classic on Saturday at 12:30 pm against Dakota State University.
