Box Score BUTTE, Mont. – After a slow start, the No. 9 Montana Tech Orediggers went to work defeating MSU-Northern in four sets 17-25, 25, 13, 25-21, 25-23.
The Skylights didn't give up in the match holding a 19-16 lead in the fourth frame. The Orediggers finished the final set with a 8-4 run.
Both teams finished with 45 kills each while the Skylights committed more hitting errors 24-21.
Maureen Jessop and
Olivia Muir had 13 kills each to lead the Orediggers. Jessop hit for .243 and Muir posted a .152 hitting percentage.
Ryhs Layton and
McKenna Kaelber combined for 35 assists. Layton led with 18.
The Orediggers had the upper hand in blocks and service aces.
Alexis Umland finished with four total blocks and
Taylor Henley and Olivia Lebeau had three each. Henley and Labeau also had seven kills apiece.
Both
Emmy Green and Jalena Jablanov had three aces each.
Alana Graves had a match high 15 kills and Emily Feller had nine.
The Orediggers face Rocky Mountain tomorrow at 2 p.m.
