KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Fresh off an opening-round victory in the NAIA National Tournament, the Montana Tech volleyball team learned its pool play assignments for the second stage of postseason competition.

The Orediggers will carry the No. 15 seed into the 24-team pool-play phase of the tournament, the NAIA national office announced Sunday afternoon. Tech landed in Pool B with No. 2-seeded Indiana Wesleyan and No. 23 Missouri Baptist.

Montana Tech's quest for a national title will resume Thursday, December 5 against Missouri Baptist in the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa. The Diggers will play Indiana Wesleyan the following day. Both matches begin at 3:30 p.m. Mountain time.

Tech earned the trip to Iowa with a sweep of Bushnell in Saturday's opening-round match on Kelvin Sampson Court. The Diggers took down the visitors, 25-23, 25-15, 29-27, to advance.

It is Montana Tech's eighth foray into pool play of NAIA nationals and the Orediggers' ninth overall appearance in the tournament, including the past four seasons.

Both programs have faced off with the Orediggers in national-tournament play before. Tech defeated Indiana Wesleyan in five sets in the 2019 iteration of the championship. Missouri Baptist ended the Diggers' 2017 season in the Round of 16.

Montana Tech is 14-13 overall in program history in national-tournament play. The Diggers went 2-1 last season, defeating College of Idaho and Valley City State before falling to national semifinalist Eastern Oregon in pool play.
