HELENA, Mont. -- Abby Clark's record-setting long jump highlighted the Montana Tech women's track & field team's efforts Saturday at University of Idaho. Tuesday, the Frontier Conference named the senior its women's field athlete of the week.

The Fort Benton native leapt 5.71 meters to place third in the long jump at the Lauren McCluskey Memorial, posting the fourth-best mark in the NAIA so far this season and setting a new program record in the process. That mark was an NAIA 'B' qualifying standard as well. Clark also took ninth in the high jump (1.56m) and 13th in the 60m hurdles (9.74 seconds) at the meet.

The weekly honor is the first of the season for Clark and the fourth of her illustrious Oredigger career. Clark, a dual-sport athlete in track & field and volleyball, is a four-time NAIA All-American for Montana Tech track & field, including her fourth-place finish in the pentathlon at the 2024 NAIA indoor championships.

She and the Montana Tech track & field teams will return to competition at Montana State University's Bobcat Performance Friday in Bozeman.

The Oredigger women's team has won five of the first six Frontier athlete of the week awards so far this season.
