HELENA, Mont. -- Rylee Armstrong laid claim to the Frontier Conference's women's field athlete of the week award, the conference office announced Tuesday, on the heels of a tremendous weekend of jumping at Montana State's Bobcat Performance in Bozeman.
The sophomore from Lewistown earned an NAIA 'B' standard in the long jump, leaping a career indoor best 5.67 meters on her way to third place at the meet. That mark ranks eighth in the country this season and third all-time at Montana Tech.
Armstrong also placed fourth in the high jump (1.55m) and fifth in the 60m hurdles (9.38 seconds) Friday in Bozeman.
The honor is the second conference award of Armstrong's career; she was the outdoor track athlete of the week April 22, 2024. Tech student-athletes swept the field superlatives for the week as junior Cade VanVleet won the accolade on the men's side.
Montana Tech's indoor track & field teams will return to competition in Spokane, Wash., February 6-8, at the Riverfront Invitational at The Podium.
