BUTTE -- Montana Tech athletics, head track & field coach Chuck Merrifield, and head cross country coach Jacob Sundberg are excited to announce the Orediggers' 2025-26 track & field and cross country recruiting class.

The Orediggers will welcome 46 new student-athletes — 25 men and 21 women — into the program this fall. Two of those are transfers, while 40 of the incoming student-athletes hail from the Treasure State. 

Montana Tech's women enjoyed yet another banner season in 2024-25, sweeping the Frontier Conference championships in both cross country and track & field. It was the Orediggers' fourth-straight track & field title. The men and women combined for five All-America accolades. 

This year's campaign kicks off with cross country's opening meet August 29 in Bozeman. The indoor and outdoor track & field schedules will be announced soon.
