Mark Robertson

Mark Robertson joined the staff at Montana Tech as associate athletic director in October 2024. He oversees the daily operations of the athletic communications department, directing maintenance of GoDiggers.com, statistical recording, gameday operations, and facilities management.

Robertson joins the Oredigger family with experience in both journalism and athletics administration. He was the director of sports information at NCAA Division III member University of Lynchburg in his home state of Virginia from 2017-2023, where he led the athletic communications department and managed NCAA compliance for the Hornets' 24 sports. The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association honored him with the NCAA Division III Excellence in Communications award in 2020 for his department's track & field coverage, and he was the 2022 Winter NCAA Division III and D3SIDA Recognition Award winner for portraying the Division III identity and student-athlete experience at Lynchburg.

Robertson is an active member of College Sports Communicators, and he previously served on the organization's Diversity and Inclusion Committee and Young Professionals Committee. He also represented Lynchburg on the National Collegiate Equestrian Association's selection committee, the D3hoops.com women's basketball top 25 committee, and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's weekly awards committee.

Prior to Lynchburg, Robertson's journalism career included stops at the Lake County Leader in Polson, the Great Falls Tribune, and The News & Advance in Lynchburg, Va., where he covered sports, outdoors, and breaking news. He continues to write for a variety of publications.

A 2013 graduate of Emory & Henry College in Emory, Va., Robertson majored in geography, history, and mass communications and was a member of the Wasps' baseball team. Outside of work, Robertson is a fan of baseball, board and card games, boating, hiking, live music, photography, and zymurgy. He considers himself a connoisseur of hot dogs and Reuben sandwiches.

Originally from Roanoke, Va., Robertson holds an undergraduate degree from Emory & Henry and a master of business administration from Lynchburg. He lives in Uptown Butte with his blue heeler, Harvey.
