Senior guard AJ Pain's superb defensive effort and excellent outside shooting helped the Orediggers win both of their games during the holiday break at the Perkins Classic in Spearfish, SD. The Orediggers defeated Blackhills State 53-51 and South Dakota School of Mines

Against the Yellowjackets, Paine had 11 points, three steals, two rebounds and two assists. Paine shot over 50-percent and went 3 for 6 from beyond the arc.

In the win against the Hardrockers, Paine hit a three with less than a minute to play to tie the game up and set up the Orediggers for the win. Paine had 17 points on the night and was 2 for 6 from three point range. Paine also had two steals and a rebound.
