Bulldogs Bully Orediggers

Box Score Dillon – University of Montana Western bullied their way to a win against Montana Tech. The Bulldogs dominated the second half and finished off their homecoming weekend with their first win of the season, 55-16.

The Orediggers are still winless in the Frontier at (0-4, 1-5) and fall one game under the Bulldogs (1-4).

Pat Hansen ruled the first half rushing for 150 yards and two scores. His scores included a 72-yard run in the first quarter. The Bulldogs kept it close, scoring on a 23-yard pass from Zach McRae to Casey Lamping midway through the second quarter to bring the score to 16-13.

The Orediggers could not mount an attack in the second half. Finding themselves pinned deep in Bulldog territory, Western capitalized on excellent field position. Able to rack up multiple scores quickly, the game was quickly out of reach for a Tech comeback. McRae led the scoring attack for the Bulldogs competing 17 passes on 26 attempts for 301 yards and three touchdowns.

Montana Tech is off this weekend and returns to action October 15th in LaGrande, OR against the Eastern Oregon Mountaineers.
