Orediggers Blow By Walla Walla

Box Score Butte – Montana Tech cruised to victory over Walla Walla Tuesday night at Kelvin Sampson Court. The Orediggers won 95-46.

Montana Tech moves to (6-3) on the season with only a couple games left before conference play begins.

Adam Greger started the game off with a three-pointer for Tech. Walla Walla got on the board with a couple free throws from Bryce Doherty on an AJ Paine foul. Andrew Bailey hit a three-point shot on Walla Walla's next possession to make it a 5-3 lead.  Walla Walla would hold the lead briefly until Tyree Haynie downed his first three-pointer of the night with 16:06 to play in the first half. Tech turned on the jets leaving Walla Walla in the dust for the rest of the game. The Orediggers led Walla Walla 40-17 at the end of the first half.

Tech outscored Walla Walla 55-29 in the second half to complete the 95-46 victory. Tech shot 42-percent from the field and held Walla Walla to 23-percent on field goals and 14-percent from beyond the arc.

Senior Tyree Haynie led the Diggers in scoring with 29 going 9 for 10 on field goals, 5 for 5 on three-pointers and 6 for 6 from the line. Haynie had four rebounds and two steals on the night.

Forward Dan Simon had 17 points on the night for his best performance of the year. Simon added seven rebounds and was 7 of 10 on field goals.

True freshman Adam Greger played well again. Greger had 14 points and four rebounds going 2 for 3 on three-point shots and 4 for 4 from the line.

The Orediggers play on the road next week when they head to South Dakota for the Perkin's Classic hosted by Black Hills

State University. Tech faces off against Black Hills State December 29th at 6 PM in Spearfish.
