Billings – The Battlin' Bears proved why they are a top the Frontier Conference and ranked 12th in the NAIA on Thursday night. Montana Tech fell to Rocky Mountain College in three straight sets 15-25, 15-25, 14-25.
Rocky improved to (3-1) in the Frontier Conference, (15-3) overall and a perfect (7-0) at home. The Orediggers stay winless in the Frontier at (0-5) and continue their five game losing streak. Tech is (7-11) overall this season.
Sara Brunner led the attack for the Battlin' Bears with 10 kills on 21 attempts and only two errors. Brunner contributed ten digs as well. Jillian Stanek added 8 kills on 10 attempts for 0.700 efficiency. The team efficiency was 0.287.
Emily Lobnitz led the Diggers with six kills and Emily Matosich had five. Allyse Cruise and Gabby Weber led the defense with nine and eight digs.
The Lady Diggers are back at home September 29th against the University of Montana Western Bulldogs at Kelvin Sampson Court. The match starts at 7 PM and will also be streamed on line on GoDiggers.com.
