Butte – The Lady Diggers gave it their all Friday night, but came up just short falling to MSU-Northern 3-2. The game scores were 33-35, 25-15, 20-25, 25-21, 15-13.
The loss snaps a three-game winning streak for the Lady Diggers (14-9, 4-7). MSU-Northern (13-12, 7-4) breaks a three-game slide.
Despite the loss, freshman
Kimmy Kavran set the single season dig record. Kavran was just one shy going into the match.
The record was broken shortly into the first game. Kavran finished the night with 28 digs and now has 638 on the year. Former record holder Kaila Minehan had 608 digs in the 2002 season.
It was an explosive night at the net with four Diggers hitting double-digit kills.
Shersteen Cline led the charge with 23 kills on 0.263 hitting.
Freshman
Sydney Norris had a career high 20 kills with a 0.155 hitting percentage.
Anaconda native
Korey Krumm continued solid hitting posting a 0.342 hitting percentage with 16 kills.
Middle blocker
Mikayla Sullivan had 13 kills on the night.
