Butte – The Lady Diggers avenged another conference opponent that has been difficult to defeat in recent time. Tech upset Frontier leader No. 24 Lewis-Clark State in five set 25-23, 13-25, 25-20, 21-25, 15-10.
After losing a tough match last night, the Diggers (15-9, 5-7) get back on the winning path with a bang. This was the first time the Diggers have defeated the Warriors since October 2008.
Montana Tech charged out of the gate picking up the first game. The Warriors swung back hard grabbing the second game 25-13. Tech almost pulled off the win in the fourth set, but the Warrior rallied back. Lewis-Clark was no match for the Diggers in the fifth game as Tech walked away with the win.
Shersteen Cline led the Diggers with 18 kills on 0.120 hitting.
Sophomore Korey Krumm turned in a 0.241 hitting percentage and 11 kills.
Freshman Kimmy Kavran continued to add to their dig total with 24 in the match.
Montana Tech is home again Thursday when they host Rocky Mountain at 7 PM at Kelvin Sampson Court.
