Kansas City, MO – Montana Tech's weekend victory paid off in the voting of the first edition of the NAIA Football Coaches' Poll. The Orediggers are ranked No. 20 in the national poll voted on by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences and independents.
Montana Tech is (1-1) on the season. The ranking is well deserved after this past weekend's 20-37 upset of No. 2 Carroll College at Alumni Coliseum.
This is the highest ranking for Montana Tech since being ranked No. 20 on November 5
th, 2007. Carroll College fell to No. 12 after their loss to Tech this past weekend. This is the first time they have fallen out of the top ten since November of 2004.
Other Frontier Conference schools in the Coaches' Top 25 are No. 8 Eastern Oregon, No. 12 Carroll College and No. 19 Rocky Mountain. This is Rocky Mountains first time in the poll this year.
