Touzinsky Named Defensive POW

Whitefish, MT – The Frontier Conference announced Mike Touzinsky as the Frontier's Defensive Player of the Week today.

Touzinksy, a 6'2” 212-pound linebacker from Temecula, California, gave a solid performance in Billings this past weekend leading a tough Oredigger defense against Rocky's potent offense.  The Orediggers held Rocky 24-6 in the victory.

The sophomore had 12 solo tackles, one assisted tackle, and four tackles for a loss which included two sacks. He also had a fumble recovery and a pass break up.

The Tech win knocked Rocky out of the Coaches' Top 25 Poll and pushed Tech up to the No. 16 spot.

This is the first award for Touzinsky who has had a breakout year. Touzinsky averages 9.5 tackles a game. He has nine tackles for a loss on the season which leads the Frontier Conference and ranks him fourth in the nation.

Montana Tech hosts Southern Oregon University this weekend. It is Homecoming for the Orediggers. Kickoff is 1 PM on Saturday. Tailgate opens at 11 AM.
