14th Ranked Northern Tops Tech Men

Montana State University-Northern shot a blistering 57 percent from the field and got 34 points from its bench — including a game-high 19 from Alfie Miller — in handing the Montana Tech men a 82-68 Frontier Conference loss in Havre on Friday night.

The Lights ( 17-3, 5-1 Frontier) ran out to a 38-24 advantage and never relented while hitting 8 of 19 3-pointers and 11 of 15 free throws.

Miller was 4 of 6 from deep and 5 of 7 overall, while Jesse Vaughan added 12 of his own points off the bench. Starters Roshawn West and Devin Jackson added 12 points apiece.

The Orediggers (11-9, 2-4) were led by Adam Greger with 20 points on 6 for 9 shooting and eight rebounds, while Daniel Simon added 13 points and Brandon Rydberg chipped in 10.

Tech had 10 turnovers to Northern's 6 and lost despite outrebounding their hosts 32-22.

Montana Tech next travels to the University of Great Falls (12-7, 3-2) on Saturday, with tipoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
