Digger Defense Stifles Dinos

Box Score BUTTE, Mont. – The Montana Tech defense held the high scoring University of Calgary offense in check at Kelvin Sampson Court Saturday night. The Orediggers won 73-53.

The Orediggers (9-5) win streak increases to five. This is Tech's longest win streak since 2011.

Normally averaging 80 points a game, Calgary had trouble moving the basketball committing 28 turnovers on the night while Tech had just 16.

Despite having trouble with the three ball, hitting just 2 of 14, the Orediggers shot 43.1 percent from the field.

Paul Engstrom and Antonio Snow led all scorers with 16 points. Engstrom also had six rebounds while Snow had three boards, three assists and three steals.

Brandon Rydberg was the only other Digger in double digits with 12 points. He also had a career high nine steals.

Adam Greger eight points and 8 rebounds.

Jasdeep Gill was the only Dino in double digits scoring 15 off the bench.

Montana Tech opens the Frontier Conference season next Friday in Havre against Montana State Northern.
