DILLON, Mont. – The Orediggers finished their long away trip with a 3-1 victory over Montana Western Saturday afternoon. Final scores were 25-9, 20-25, 25-15, 25-21.
The Orediggers (15-9, 3-4) snapped their three game win streak.
Montana Western (7-14, 0-7) stays winless in conference play.
Tech outplayed Western at the outhitting the Dawgs 47-41 and blocking 12 to Western's 5.
After outhitting the Dawgs 15-5 in the first set, Western answered back winning the second set with 12 kills to 9.
Middle blocker
Bailie Cortner led the Diggers with 15 kills and a 0.560 hitting percentage. She added five blocks on the defensive side.
Freshman
Karina Mickelson was the only other Digger in double digits with 12 kills.
Jordan Danz had eight kills and five blocks. She added 11 digs to her match totals.
Joanna Avery had 11 kills for the Dawgs and two blocks.
Montana Tech returns home next Friday against Carroll College. Match starts at 7 p.m.
