HELENA, Mont. – The Montana Tech volleyball season came to an end today at the Frontier Conference Tournament. The University of Great Falls dealt the Diggers their final loss of the season 25-13, 25-23, 25-22.
The Orediggers were slow out of the gate hitting just 0.038 in the first set while the Argos had 12 kills on 0.292 hitting.
Montana Tech had a three point lead 17-14 in the second set, but the Argos answered back with five straight points. The teams traded leads but Great Falls finished with the final two points.
In the final set, the Argos came from behind and used a four point run to take a 20-16 lead. Tech answered back with four points of their own to tie the set at 20. The
Argos scored five of the last seven points to advance to the semifinals.
Senior
Sydney Norris led Tech with 12 kills.
Bailie Cortner had 9 kills and hit 0.500 in the match.
Kelsee Montagna led the Argos with 15 kills.
The Orediggers finish with an 18-11 overall record on the season.
