Box Score SAN ANTONIO, Texas— The Montana Tech Women's Basketball team nearly upset no. 3 ranked Our Lady of the Lake University falling 93-89.
Montana Tech (6-4) battled for a full 40 minutes against the powerhouse Saints leading by as many as six points early in the contest. Montana Tech was 7-for-11 from three point range in the first half.
The Diggers trailed OLLU by just five points heading into the halftime.
The Diggers shot a blustery 52 percent from the field and 55 percent from downtown against the athletic Saints squad.
Montana Tech was led in scoring by Monica Landeck who notched 23 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the floor including five three pointers.
Senior
Martha Dembek tallied 22 points and grabbed five rebounds while
Kourtney Coverdell scored 15 points on a 5-for-6 shooting night.
Hattie Thatcher filled the stat sheet scoring 13 points, dishing out seven assists, and grabbing six rebounds.
San Antonio native
Rachel Farris scored eight points and grabbed six caroms in front of her hometown crowd.
The Diggers will wrap up their Texas trip when they take on NCAA Division I Texas A&M Corpus Christi on Wednesday at 2 p.m. MST.
