HAVRE, Mont. – No. 25 Montana Tech finished the regular season with a victory at the Armory against Montana State Northern 25-18, 22-25, 25-19, 25-20.
The Orediggers (20-8, 8-4) got their first 20-win season under fifth year head coach
Brian Solomon. Tech finished the regular season with three straight wins and 11 out of their last 12.
Tech took the first set and dropped the second to the Lights on a late rally. The final two went to the Diggers.
The Orediggers had a sizeable margin on the kills leading 71-46. The team hit .308 in the match.
Freshman
Gena McMillan had a career high 19 kills hitting .390 in the match with just three errors on 41 attacks.
Bailie Cortner hit a staggering .538 with 15 kills and just one error. She had five blocks as well.
Jordan Danz finished with 14 kills and 24 digs.
Nicole Peacock was the only other Digger in double-digits with 10. She hit .200 in the match and had 10 digs.
Haley Yoder had 12 kills for the Lights hitting .207.
Montana Tech is in Great Falls next Friday for the Frontier Conference Tournament. The winner of the tournament receives the automatic bid to the NAIA national tournament.
