Box Score OREM, Utah— Montana Tech dropped an exhibition contest to NCAA Division I Utah Valley Friday 72-47.
Playing their fourth game in five days the Orediggers hung tough with the Wolves for most of the first half. The Orediggers trailed UVU 32-22 at the half after shooting just 32 percent from the floor.
The Diggers held Utah Valley to just 7-29 shooting from three-point territory but the length of the Wolves helped them shoot 41 percent from the floor in the contest.
Lukas Vining scored a team-high 12 points on 5-of-12 shooting from the floor while John Chapman, Chris O'Neill, and Carson Dummer each added seven markers.
The Orediggers had 15 assists on 20 made baskets but turned the ball over 16 times in the loss.
Montana Tech will return to action on New Year's Eve when they take on L-C State in Lewiston, Idaho.
