HELENA, Mont. – Carroll College holds out in the final minutes against Montana Tech 64-57.
Both teams kept pace with one another as Carroll took a slim lead into the break 25-23. The Orediggers held Carroll to just 37.9 percent shooting in the half.
The Orediggers trailed by two 55-53 going into the final minutes but the Saints hit 7 of 8 free throws down the stretch.
Montana Tech outrebounded Carroll 36-27 including 10 offensive boards. But Tech had 16 turnovers to just eight by the Saints.
Jalen Coates had 13 of his 21 points in the second half. He also had four rebounds.
Lukas Vining had a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Match Burham had 19 points and 7 rebounds for Carroll. He shot 5 for 5 from the free throw line and is 29 for 29 in the last two games.
No. 13 Carroll College (18-5, 11-2) wins their fourth straight sweeping Montana Tech (7-18, 2-11) on the season.
The Orediggers return home Saturday hosting No. 12 Lewis-Clark State.
