BUTTE, Mont. – The No. 16 Saints outlasted the No. 22 Orediggers winning the first match of the Frontier Conference season.
The Orediggers (8-5, 0-1) struggled to get momentum going in the match. The Orediggers outhit the Saints 59-55, but produced 24 errors in the match. Despite the errors, the Tech team still hit .276 on the night.
The Orediggers totaled 20 blocks.
Four Diggers hit the double-digit kill mark led by
Jordan Danz with 14.
Freshman
Gena McMillan had 12 kills and nine digs.
Nicole Peacock produced a double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs in the match.
Katie Wiley had 10 kills and seve3n blocks on the night.
Makenzie Bauck had 49 assists and eight digs.
Paige Montgomery and Holly Morehouse had 14 kills each for the Saints.
Montana Tech travels to Lewiston, Idaho for their second conference match of the year on Friday.
