LEWISTON, Idaho—The Orediggers were the victim of a slow start once again falling to Lewis-Clark State College 80-59 Friday night.
Montana Tech (6-12, 0-7) trailed the Warriors by fifteen points at halftime despite shooting 49 percent from the floor. The Diggers trailed 39-24 at the intermission.
A slow start was to be expected after Montana Tech made the long trip from Butte immediately after the Diggers' loss to Carroll College Thursday night.
The Orediggers shot just 1-for-9 from downtown with
Lukas Vining making the lone triple on his way to a game-high 21 points. Vining, fresh off an 18-point performance against Carroll College, was an efficient 10-for-16 from the floor.
Junior guard
Chris O'Neill was the only other Oredigger in double figures with 11 points on 5-of-9 shooting but dished out five assists in the losing effort.
L-C State was led by Doug McDaniel who scored 26 points. The Warriors made just eight threes against the Diggers and got to the free throw line 21 times.
The Orediggers travel to Havre next Friday night to take on MSU-Northern at the Armory Gymnasium at 8 P.M. MST.
