GREAT FALLS—The Diggers broke through and got their first win in over a month defeating UGF 64-59 Saturday night.
Junior
Chris O'Neill scored 18 points on 5-of-11 shooting but the dynamic guard connected on three triples in the victory. O'Neill dished out four assists and grabbed two rebounds.
In his best game of the year,
Carson Dummer scored 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Dummer was a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line. Choteau native
Dylan Pannabecker scored nine points,
Flemming Okeke added seven, and
Lukas Vining and
Sadiq Inuwa scored six. Vining was 4-for-4 from the free throw line.
The Orediggers took the lead to end the first half on a 5-0 run thanks to a pair of
Carson Dummer free throws and a three by
Chris O'Neill. The Diggers led 32-30 at the intermission.
Montana Tech improves to 7-13 overall and 1-8 in Frontier Conference play.
Montana Tech returns to Butte to take on Western Thursday night at 7:30 PM.
