BUTTE, Mont. – The Orediggers never gave up finishing off Rocky Mountain 65-57.
Montana Tech (11-11, 5-6) trailed by eight in the third quarter, but pulled within one at the end of the frame. The Orediggers surged ahead in the final quarter in the victory.
The Orediggers dominated the boards 46-28 and shot a hot 9 of 20 from three point.
Montana Tech took advantage of the 18 offensive boards with 14 second chance points.
Coming off the bench,
Bailey Armbruster led the Orediggers with 19 points hitting a staggering 8 of 10 from the field and 3 for 4 from beyond the arc. The sophomore guard also pulled down five rebounds and had a block and a steal.
Martha Dembek had 17 points and completed the double-double with a season high 12 rebounds. The senior was a perfect 10 for 10 from the free throw line.
Monica Landdeck had 16 points going 4 for 7 from three point range.
Alecia Chamberlin led the Bears with 15 points on 6 of 7 shooting from the field.
Montana Tech is home next Saturday hosting No. 2 Lewis-Clark State.
