DES MOINES, Iowa-- The Diggers split a pair of matches Saturday at the Grand View Tournament in Iowa.
Montana Tech lost a closely contested first match against No. 11 Grand View 17-25, 25-23, 25-22, 28-26.
In the match against Grand View, Montana Tech hit for just a .196 clip but was balanced offensively with
Gena McMillan,
Angela Molesworth,
Haley Druyvestein, and
Masha Korol all tallying double-digit kills.
Kamaile Moody and
Tori Chelini each recorded 22 assists while
Sabrina Hopcroft had a match-high 20 digs.
The loss to Grand View snapped an eight match win streak for the Diggers.
In the second match of the day, Montana Tech defeated Peru State (Neb.) 25-17, 23-25, 25-18, 25-20.
The No. 15 ranked Orediggers were led by
Gena McMillan who had 13 kills.
Angela Molesworth added nine and
Masha Korol had eight.
Heather Thompson,
Haley Druyvestein, and
Nicole Peacock each had six kills.
Sabrina Hopcroft had a match-high 23 digs and
Hannah Liss had three services including one to win the match.
The Orediggers 16-6 overall and 6-0 in conference, return to Frontier Conference action when they host Carroll College on Thursday the 18
th at 7PM.
