DILLON- Montana Tech struggled to find a rhythm against Montana Western falling 42-35 at Vigilante Stadium.
The Diggers jumped ahead to a 14-0 lead on the Bulldogs, but Western responded back and it was all tied up at 21-21 at halftime.
In the second half both teams added a pair of touchdowns to the board to tie it up at 35-35 with just minutes left. Western found the endzone around the two minute mark to take the lead for good.
Montana Tech's
Jed Fike rushed 28 times for 122 yards and three touchdowns while also catching a touchdown.
Quinn McQueary was 30-for-42 through the air for 302 yards but was intercepted three times on the windy afternoon.Â
Dion Williams led all Tech receivers with 10 catches for 77 yards while
Sean Sullivan and
Chris Kelly each had five grabs.
Nic Amestoy had 10 tackles and
Justin May had seven to lead the Digger Defense.
Montana Tech (4-1) travels to Helena to take on rival Carroll College next Saturday at 1 PM.Â
