BUTTE, Mont. – The Montana Tech Oredigger volleyball team swept Montana State Northern 25-23, 25-23, 25-13 in the final regular season match on Kelvin Sampson Court. The victory clinches the first regular season Frontier Conference Title for the Orediggers since 1990.
Montana Tech (20-8, 10-2) reach the 20-win mark for the second straight season.
The seniors led the Diggers with 28 of the teams 49 kills.
Angela Molesworth had 10 kills and
Nicole Peacock and
Haley Druyvestein had 9 apiece.
Tech crushed the attack leading the Lights 49-24 hitting for .250 in the match. The Orediggers posted 18 kills in the first set and 17 in the third.
Sophomore
Gena McMillan had 10 kills and
Masha Korol added 8.
Hannah Liss had 24 assists as the leading setter.
Sabrina Hopcroft had 24 digs.
Montana Tech travels to Helena for the Frontier Conference Tournament next weekend. Carroll College hosts at the P.E. Center starting Friday. The Orediggers will have a first round bye starting play in the semifinal round on Saturday.
