BILLINGS, Mont. – The Oredigger women's basketball team won their third straight game holding off Rocky Mountain College on the road 65-63.
The Orediggers (14-13, 8-8) pull even at .500 with Carroll College in the Frontier Conference standings with two games left on the regular season.
Kourtney Coverdell continued her hot streak scoring a season high 27 points on 9 of 13 shooting from beyond the arc. The nine three pointers also sets a school record breaking the previous mark of eight set by
Monica Landdeck at the beginning of this season.
Rocky mounted a comeback in the second half after trailing 39-23 going into the break. The Battlin' Bears tied the game with two minutes left, but the Orediggers pulled away in the final minutes.
Montana Tech shot a blistering 57.7 percent from long and 41.8 percent from the field.
Martha Dembek notched her fifth double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Hattie Thatcher also hit double-digit scoring with 15 points and adding seven assists.
Markaela Francis led the Bears with 13 points and Hailee Farstveet had 11 points and seven rebounds.
Montana Tech is in Dillon at No. 20 Montana Western Saturday.
