BUTTE, Mont. – The final match of the Big Sky Volleyball Challenge went all five sets giving the crowd some final drama. The Orediggers came from behind in the final frame to defeat No. 10 Grand View 25-13, 24-26, 26-24, 17-25, 15-12.
Montana Tech finished 3-1 at the Big Sky Volleyball Challenge and is now 6-2 on the season.
The Orediggers led the attack with 61 kills to 51 by the Vikings. Tech finished with a 0.190 hitting percentage for the match.
Kelsey Redmond had a game high 23 kills for Grand View.
Angela Molesworth had a team high 15 kills and finished with a 0.219 hitting percentage. She added four blocks.
Sophomore
Gena McMillan had 13 kills and a 0.226 hitting percentage.
Masha Korol also had 13 kills and a 0.226 hitting percentage.
Sabrina Hopcroft had a game high 18 digs in the match.
Haley Druyvestien and
Heather Thompson had five blocks each.
Montana Tech is on the road for Labor Day weekend. The Orediggers travel to Bellevue, Nebraska for their final tournament before Frontier Conference action begins.
