GREAT FALLS, Mont. – No. 23 Montana Tech did not find a rhythm on the road Friday night falling to No. 24 Providence 25-17, 17-25, 20-25, 12-25.
The Orediggers (12-9, 4-3) split with the Argos on the season while picking up their second straight conference loss.
Tech's best hitting came in the first frame but only amounted eight kills and .132 hitting percentage. The finished the match with just a .054 and only 30 kills.
Providence heated up after the first set finishing with 56 kills and a .153 hitting percentage.
Kelsey Shaver led with a match-high 22 kills and a .280 hitting. Sydney Andersen had 13 kills and a .407.
Masha Korol led the Diggers with 15 kills and a team high .185 hitting percentage.
Karina Mickelson had 11 kills.
Sabrina Hopcroft had a match-high 31 digs.
Montana Tech travels to Missouri next weekend for a tournament hosted by Columbia College.
