BUTTE, Mont. – The Orediggers finished the two-day Big Sky Volleyball Challenge in strong form sweeping the University of California Merced 25-12, 25-17, 25-17.

Montana Tech (4-3) went 3-1 at the event hosted at the Butte Civic Center.

The Orediggers had 41 kills to 24 from Merced. Tech hit a staggering .373 as a team in the match.

Masha Korol totaled 13 kills and just three errors finishing with a .357 hitting percentage.

Middle Heather Thompson had 10 kills and Karina Mickelson added seven.

Montana Tech travels to Bellevue, Neb. next weekend for the Bellevue University Labor Day Tournament.
