LEWISTON, Idaho – Montana Tech falls to No. 18 Lewis-Clark State 53-43 finishing off a tough week of basketball.
The Orediggers (12-11, 2-10) played their second straight ranked opponent and fourth game in seven days. It was the second loss to the Warriors on the season.
Tech trailed by just four, 31-27, going into the break. The Warriors held the Orediggers at bay in the second half for their second straight victory.
The Orediggers shot 32.11 percent from the field and struggled from beyond the arc hitting just 4 of 18 from deep.
Mollie Peoples led the Orediggers with 16 points. Peoples had 3 of the Orediggers 4 three pointers.
Mesa Williams had 9 points and 4 rebounds.
Kaylee Zard netted 8 and grabbed a team high 6 rebounds.
Peyton Souvenir led the Warriors with 12 points on 5 of 8 shooting and hit 2 of 3 from beyond the arc.
The Orediggers take a break until next Friday when they travel to Montana State Northern.
