BUTTE, Mont.- The Montana Tech women's basketball team defeated College of Idaho 89-65 in the final game of the Fall Classic at Kelvin Sampson Court on Saturday night.
The Diggers (2-1) jumped ahead of the Yotes early taking a 20-14 lead into the second quarter. The Orediggers pulled away in the final stanza outscoring the Yotes 32-16.
Mesa Williams scored 31 points to lead four Orediggers in double-digit scoring. Williams was 9-for-16 from the field and 12-for-13 from the free throw line to lead all scorers.
Brooke Heggie scored 17,
Dani Urick added 14, and
Mollie Peoples chipped in 12 for the Diggers.
College of Idaho was led in scoring by Makenna Schritter who scored 14 points.
Montana Tech shot 48.9% from the floor, and 74.1% from the free throw line.
The Orediggers get back into action on Tuesday night when they play Cal Maritine on Friday, November 1st at 5:00 P.M. at Kelvin Sampson Court.
